Why roofers get their own program

Roofing is not like the rest of the permit world and it does not fit a general permit service well. The volume is high, the margin per job is tight, the permits are repetitive, and the whole business runs on crew scheduling. A roofing company does not need a permit consultant. It needs a permit department that keeps up.

So the program is built around the three things that actually cost roofers money: registrations that lapse, permits that sit unfiled while a crew is booked, and rejections for the same avoidable reasons over and over.

What the program covers

• Municipality registration, maintained — we get you registered where you are not, and we keep the registrations current so you never lose a Monday to a city that will not accept your filing.
• Permit filing — reroofs, tear-offs, repairs, overlays, decking and structural repair permits, filed in whichever of the 67 counties the job is in.
• Product approval and NOA handling — the single most common cause of roof permit rejection. We keep your system approvals on file and attach the right documentation to the right filing.
• Notice of commencement — prepared and recorded where required.
• Review tracking — someone watches the queue and chases it, so a permit does not sit for three weeks because nobody looked.
• Revisions and resubmittals — answered by us, not sent back to your office to figure out.
• Inspection scheduling — including the ones roofers most often miss, like in-progress and dry-in.
• Closeout — permits closed out properly, so they do not resurface at a homeowner’s closing two years later and land back on you.
• Engineering when a roof needs it — decking, structural repair, equipment or an engineer letter for a carrier, produced in house rather than subbed out.

Where roof permits actually get rejected

Across the filings we handle, roof permit corrections cluster in a handful of places: product approval or NOA documentation that does not match the system being installed, missing or incorrect deck attachment detail, secondary water barrier not addressed, mismatch between the contract scope and the permit scope, and registration or licensing issues on the contractor side that have nothing to do with the roof at all.

None of those are difficult. They are just details that get missed when the office is filing forty permits a week between other jobs. Catching them before submittal is most of the value here.

How it works day to day

You send us the job — address, scope, system, contract. Email, a shared folder, or a form; whatever fits how your office already works. We tell you same day whether anything is missing. When it is complete, we file it.

From there you get status without chasing anybody: an open-permit board you can look at any time, and on Volume and Enterprise a weekly summary to your office. Your coordinator is a named person with a direct line, not a queue.

What this replaces

Most roofing companies handling their own permits have someone in the office doing it between other duties, or a production manager doing it at night. That works until volume rises or that person leaves, and it is almost always more expensive than it looks once you count the crew days lost to permits that were not ready.

This is the same work, done by people whose only job is jurisdictions, priced per permit so it scales with your season instead of sitting on your payroll through the slow months.
